Liquid Gold
There is a once-in-a-century transformation taking place in Victoria’s Foodbowl. A decade-long drought galvanised a diverse alliance of community and government organisations to address the growing crisis. The result is a $2 billion modernisation of the region’s century-old irrigation network. Peter Garnick’s latest works capture for posterity the project’s magnitude and remarkable infrastructure against the backdrop of Northern Victoria’s natural beauty. Evocative imagery from the initial stages of the project is the subject of the exhibition “Liquid Gold – The Art of Irrigation”, which will tour throughout Victoria and Australia following its Sofitel Melbourne debut.
