Freeze! The directorial turn in contemporary photography

Freeze! The directorial turn in contemporary photography is showing a  diverse selection of works by artists who pursue the narrative possibilities of the photograph as an inherently performative space.  These constructed scenes offer socio-political commentary along with poignant insight into the human condition.

Artist included:  Darron Davies, Destiny Deacon, Samantha Everton, Rose Farrell & George Parkin, Charmaine Hardy, Tracey Moffatt, Gerard O’Connor, Polixeni Papapetrou, Patricia Piccinini, Darrn Siwess and Anne Zahalka.

Suspended Frames, is an exhibition of photographs by local youth that conincides with Nathional Youth Week, 13 -22 April.

To be opened by Susan Van Wyk, Curator of Photography, National Gallery of Victoria.
