Tess and Julia’s work comes from a desire to create a feeling and capture an idea to encourage an emotive response from the viewer. It is an intuitive reaction to image making. Their images are subtle and feminine, quiet, dark and sensual. They exude a solitude which comes from personal interpretation. In the variance of subject matter, from human form to landscape and object; ideas and unfixed perceptions are explored rather than literal representations.
