Chromogenic Exhibition
The exhibition Chromogenic 2012 is a showcase of talented Melbourne based photographers that embrace
photographic technology. ‘Chromogenic’, better known as a C-type photograph, is a medium that has for the
last 120 years or so made it possible for us to capture and share images. Having started my career as a photographic
printer I have a passion for the print; as the final place where a concept or moment is translated and
displayed to the audience. It is with my passion for the print and with the help of these generous artists that
I bring to the public a show that has something for everyone. But most importantly it presents a small group
from a wonderful crowd of artists, ranging from the very well established to the emerging. Melbourne and
Australia is lucky to have all this talent. – Phill Virgo
