Chris Round is an internationally recognized fine art photographer based in Sydney. He is primarily interested in documenting post-natural, human influenced landscapes mostly from locations in Australia and the UK. These environments are dynamic and exciting because humans continually change their relationship with their surroundings (for better and for worse) serving up myriad new subject matter. As well as discovering new and interesting human relationships with the environment his work also explores the notion of place in the context of his dual Australia and UK citizenship.
Chris studied at both Canterbury College of Art and the School of Communication Arts in the UK, and also Sydney College Of Art in Australia. He also had a career in advertising, winning many international accolades including a coveted Grand Prix at Cannes.
He gained considerable attention with his first solo show ‘Evidence’ in 2012, curated by Sandy Edwards, and has continued to exhibit as a solo artist and in group shows both locally and overseas a number of times since. His work has been awarded locally and internationally, highlights include: World Photo Awards – Shortlisted, 3rd place Australia National Award and several commended images; HeadOn Landscape Prize – Finalist 2013 & 2014; CLIP Award – winner Regional Landscape Prize, finalists; QCP ‘Space & Place’ 3rd place; CCP, Melbourne, Kodak Salon winner Best Architectural Image.
