GROUP CHEMISTRY & THE GATHERING

GROUP CHEMISTRY –

Group Chemistry is the first exhibition of the Melbourne-based Friends of Photography Group (FoPG) featuring 12 artists. Embracing analogue photography in all its diversity, It invites the viewer to see the works through two different contexts of chemistry: the scientific magic of what takes place in the darkroom, turning a latent image into a visible and tangible print through the use of chemical know-how; and the harder-to-see chemistry of a group of people sharing knowledge and experience, building community and encouraging creativity and technical experimentation.

THE GATHERING

The Gathering is a group exhibition featuring photographs shot by local artists who meet on weekends to shoot, process and print at Gold Street studios. A group between 20 to 30 photographers will each be showing one work shot on large format film and hand printed in the darkroom.

This exhibition marks 10 years of The Gathering. Come in for a celebratory drink!
