Call out for artists
Yarra City Council is looking for three artists to exhibit a series of four photographic works each at Carlton Library, as part of the new Yarra Light Box Public Art Program. The selected works will be acquired as part of Council’s Art Collection.
Carlton Library is located at 667 Rathdowne Street. The light boxes will be placed on the south wall of the Library, along Newry Street at the junction of Rathdowne Street in Carlton.
Three artists will be selected and four works by each artist will be exhibited in rotation from the second half of 2014. Artists must live or work in the Yarra or be represented by a studio or gallery based in Yarra.
Each of the three selected artists will receive a fee of $1300 (excluding GST). This fee is inclusive of all costs involved in the creation of the work, including artist fees, production of digital files to specifications for printing, labour costs etc. Council will manage and cover the costs associated with printing and installation.
